There is something so special about being able to follow someone's journey. Good families cheer on each other’s successes and the best friendships are those where you can lift each other up and be an honest soundboard for the other person. When you invest in another person, you experience their joy too. This is one of my favorite things about being a photographer. I have the privilege of capturing some of the most important moments in the lives of those around me. I get a front seat to watching someones journey and that is such a beautiful thing. If we’ve never met before and you step in front of my camera, know that I do not take this honor for granted and it's something that I value each.and.every.time.
This may seem like rambling, but I wanted to share these thoughts on today's post because of Emily and Ryan. Emily and Ryan were married in 2016 and were my 2nd wedding couple (THANK YOU!). I was so excited when they reached out last year to let me know that they were pregnant and to see if I was available to photograph their maternity portraits. Of course the answer was YES so we met together last July at Bon Secours Retreat Center in Marriottsville, MD for the session. This was where Ryan and Emily met, where I photographed their engagement portraits and where they were married so of course, it was the perfect setting for their maternity portraits! It was so wonderful to catch up as we hadn’t seen each other since their wedding day and to photograph the next chapter of their growing family was so special!
