Prayers, doctor's visits, tests, more prayers. Trying new things. Failures, Success, disappointment, and then, your hopes and dreams being realized. After four and a half years of praying, striving, and with the help of science, Melanie and Ashley will soon be bringing home their baby daughter Noa. To say it's been a journey to get to this point is putting it mildly, and as their sister-in-law, I couldn't be happier for the new parents. Every child is special and impacts the world with their being. Shaking us apart, new life changes us and makes us be better than the day before. Every old experience is transformed into something new when viewed by this new, incredible, miraculous new life.
When Melanie and I first talked about ideas for their maternity session, we laughed over some hilarious green-screen photos in front of the White House, considered a Christmas Tree Farm backdrop, but ultimately landed on wanting the session to be indoors since it's a pretty chilly time of year. We were able to schedule the session over at one of my favorite studio locations in the area, Maryland Creative Collective, which included Melanie getting some pampering with her hair and makeup being done by Ashley from Well Crafted Beauty who calls the studio her new home! I cannot emphasize enough the positive impact of convenience, pampering, and eliminating stressors when you are 8 months pregnant. Really the same can be said for any session.
