I was so excited last fall when Katie reached out to me about photographing her wedding in Silver Spring! I met Katie several years ago through a book group (we went through Brene Brown’s book Rising Strong) that we were a part of from my church. After the group ended, we stayed connected and I even had the opportunity to photograph her headshots. I remember her mentioning her then-boyfriend Dennis and meeting him on their wedding day, I knew they were perfect together. Knowing that they didn’t want to go the large wedding route, Katie and Dennis had their intimate wedding on December 27th. Although their wedding was an intimate one, they kept a nod to tradition and their faith by exchanging vows at their church, officiated by their pastor. The historical church with its beautiful stone was the perfect backdrop - along with a little patch of ivy that we discovered down the street for a few more portraits. Katie and Dennis were all smiles as they laughed together, now as husband and wife! It was the perfect end to a wonderful year!
