Wylder Hotel Tilghman Island Wedding | Lindsay + Devin | Maryland Wedding Photographer
Ah, I am so incredibly excited to share Lindsay and Devin’s Wylder Hotel wedding on Tilghman Island with you today! You may remember Lindsay and Devin’s engagement post from a few months ago in Fell’s Point (featuring several birds) and at the Rawlings Conservatory. I met Lindsay when she was a bridesmaid at Julius and Tasha’s Oxon Hill Manor wedding in 2017 (who I got to see again at the wedding!!). This was such a great group of friends who had a perfect spring wedding, even with all of the ups and downs of April showers.
Lindsay and Devin’s day arrived sans any rainstorms on August 10th and I was so excited to see them! I planned on arriving early to get started with my assistant Rachel and although the Bay Bridge traffic slowed us down a little bit, we were still able to get to the Wylder Hotel about 30 minutes early. As we were setting up, wedding guests were playing corn hole on the front lawn and enjoying the gorgeous weather. It was one of those perfect summer days where the warmth was perfectly balanced with the cool air coming off the water.
Lindsay was absolutely beautiful as always as she prepped with her bride squad. Inspired by the water, Lindsay and Devin chose different shades of blue for their wedding party to wear with green and white brought in through the florals. Many of the guests were not local to Maryland and Lindsay and Devin wanted to make sure that everyone had a chance to relax and have fun during their wedding weekend. The Wylder Hotel was the perfect choice as there are many activities provided by the hotel and areas surrounding Tilghman Island. Before getting Lindsay into her dress, I ran over to Devin’s room to say hello, snap a few pictures of the groomsmen (which may have involved my climbing onto a roof… ;-D) and to give him his gift from Lindsay. About a month prior, Lindsay had driven down from New York where she and Devin live to have a few special photos taken. We moved Devin into a separate room from the rest of the groomsmen to open the gift and his face was absolutely priceless when he opened the album and saw the photos of his soon to be wife!
At the ceremony you could hear an audible sigh from Devin when he turned to see Lindsay walking towards him. But perhaps my favorite part was during the vow exchange when Devin mistakenly said to Lindsay “With this thing I thee wed” rather than “With this ring” and it was probably the most adorable thing! Watching these two as they interact with each other, you can just tell the love that they have for eachother all while knowing how to laugh with one another too! Their eyes get this special sparkler when seeing the other person and I am so honored to have been a part of their wedding day! Congratulations Lindsay and Devin!
